Bradford Operations was founded by Samuel Gursky, a senior colorist and post supervisor with over a decade of experience finishing documentary and narrative projects for theatrical, broadcast, and streaming distribution. The company provides professional post-production services including color grading, online editing, archival restoration, post supervision, accessibility consulting, and deliverables creation.

Bradford Lab is the company's software platform — a cloud media library with post-production services built into it: version management, review and approval, automated QC, format validation, DCP inspection and authoring, caption delivery, deliverables management, and an AI assistant with deep domain knowledge of post-production.

**It is your media library in the cloud, with a post house built around it.** Every asset on a project is tracked with every version of it, reachable from the suite, a laptop, or a client's browser. What makes it a post house rather than storage is that everything which happens to the media stays attached to the exact version it happened to — QC report, caption pass, loudness measurement, frame-accurate note, approval, share link, processing job, storage-tier change — rather than living in a spreadsheet beside it. This is also what makes agent-first post-production possible: an agent cannot do much with a folder of files, but it can do real work against a versioned record.

**Bradford Post Assistant** is the bridge that attaches the workstation to that library. It is a desktop application running next to the creative tools (principally DaVinci Resolve), connecting into the application directly to read and drive project, timeline, color, and render operations. It reaches into the same library: from the workstation a user selects a project, asset, and specific version out of the cloud library and runs work against it, including fleet QC — no export, upload, and hand-off, because both sides address the same record.

## What is a Virtual Post House?

A virtual post house is a cloud-based post-production facility that provides the same professional services, tools, and workflow intelligence as a traditional brick-and-mortar post house — but accessible from anywhere. It handles deliverables creation, quality control, review and approval, asset management, and workflow automation. Bradford Lab is the first purpose-built virtual post house designed for collaboration between human professionals and AI agents.

## Agent-Native Architecture

Bradford Lab is built from the ground up for both human operators and AI agents to work together:

- **AI agents** handle the repetitive technical infrastructure work: ingesting assets, running QC, validating deliverables against specs, generating reports, flagging issues, managing workflows.
- **Human professionals** retain creative oversight, final approval authority, strategic decision-making, and the craft that makes post-production an art.
- **The platform** provides guardrails, human checkpoints, and structured APIs so agents augment professional workflows rather than operating unsupervised.

This is not automation replacing people — it is a new model where agents handle the infrastructure and humans focus on the work that requires judgment, taste, and relationships.

## Bradford Lab — The Virtual Post House

Bradford Lab handles the infrastructure and workflow layer of post-production:

- **Cloud Media Library**: Every asset in a project organized by version, with in-browser playback for professional formats (including DCPs) and technical metadata read off the file itself.
- **Automated Quality Control**: Codec validation, loudness analysis (EBU R128, ATSC A/85), resolution verification, color space checking, and standards compliance — governed by a three-layer model (standards profiles, QC profiles, policy profiles) that resolves through a scope hierarchy, with platform defaults an organization's admins can override for their org, client, or project. DCPs validate automatically at import; automatic triggering across the remaining check types is rolling out through the beta.
- **DCP Validation & Playback**: Structural validation (CPL/PKL/ASSETMAP/MXF), multi-reel composition QC, SMPTE and Interop compliance, encrypted package detection, ISDCF naming validation, and in-browser playback with XYZ-to-Rec.709 color conversion.
- **Deliverables Management**: Track, validate, and package deliverables for theatrical, broadcast, streaming, and archival distribution — agents handle the logistics.
- **Review & Approval**: Frame-accurate review with drawn markup and threaded comments on scoped, expiring, revocable share links. File requests collect material from clients and vendors directly into a project.
- **Captions & Subtitles**: Caption editor with Whisper-based transcription and audio event detection. Delivery export to SRT, WebVTT, SCC (CEA-608), MCC (CEA-708), Netflix TTML, Amazon TTML, IMSC 1.1 (Disney+/Hulu), iTunes ITT, SMPTE-TT (SMPTE 428-7), Interop DCSubtitle, and plain transcript. EBU-STL is NOT currently supported.
- **Agent-Native Architecture**: Durable Temporal workflows perform operational work (probe, measure, validate, package, render) with human checkpoints on consequential decisions.
- **Format-Aware Asset Management**: Understands ProRes profiles, audio channel layouts, subtitle formats, codec parameters, and delivery specifications.
- **AI Post-Production Assistant**: Conversational assistant answering domain questions (codecs, captions, loudness, DCP standards via a maintained standards registry) and questions about project state. It helps you understand and direct work; the durable workflows are what execute it.
- **Integrations**: Frame.io (bi-directional comment sync, account/tree import, webhooks, custom actions), Dropbox, Google Drive, and DaVinci Resolve via Bradford Post Assistant on the workstation.
- **Security**: Organization-based access control, encrypted storage, scoped share links.

Video: ProRes (all profiles), DNxHD/DNxHR, H.264, H.265/HEVC, AV1, JPEG2000 (DCP MXF), XDCAM, AVC-Intra, MPEG-2.
Audio: PCM WAV, BWF, multichannel stems (stereo, 5.1, 7.1, Atmos), AAC, Dolby Digital.
Cinema: DCP (SMPTE and Interop), multi-reel, encrypted, subtitle reels.
Subtitles: SRT, WebVTT, TTML, IMSC 1.1, SCC (CEA-608), MCC (CEA-708), iTunes ITT, SMPTE-TT, Interop DCSubtitle. (EBU-STL not supported.)
Interchange: EDL, FCPXML, OpenTimelineIO (OTIO). AAF is read by conform/editorial QC tooling but is not a self-serve import or turnover format.
